Managing Director - Asset Management

Neal is a managing director of our Chicago-based Capital Markets group and is responsible for business development, client relations and transactional structuring.  He has also been very involved in our due diligence and underwriting engagements.

A 25-year commercial real estate finance industry veteran, Neal has been involved in securing more than $1 billion in debt for commercial properties during his career.  Neal previously was a principal at Beacon Realty Capital, a mortgage brokerage and advisory firm, where he was on the executive committee and managed its self storage finance group.  He was also a founding partner of First Security Commercial Mortgage, one of the first conduit lenders to focus on niche real estate asset classes.

Neal began his career with the Altschuler, Melvoin & Glasser accounting firm where he specialized in real estate and financial services.  While there, he served in several management roles as a contractor for the Resolution Trust Corporation, including saving and loan closings, asset valuations, asset management and national sales center support.

A certified public accountant, Neal earned a bachelor’s degree in accountancy from Indiana University.
