Managing Director, Capital Markets

Based in Chicago, Steve is a managing director of our Capital Markets group and is responsible for business development, client relations and transactional structuring.  Steve is also responsible for overseeing Corvus’s asset management and special servicing unit which to date, has been responsible for managing approximately $800 million of distressed commercial real estate loans. 

Steve brings more than 20 years of financial and real estate industry experience to The Corvus Group.  His expertise spans the disciplines of: commercial real estate investment, development and management; debt and equity financing; structured finance (mortgage/asset backed securitization); and financial services consulting (private and public sector).

He previously was the chief operating officer and a principal with a Chicago-based commercial real estate investment and development company, where he managed commercial real estate acquisitions and directed the development of more than $100 million of commercial real estate projects.  Steve has also served as a Principal at First Security Commercial Mortgage, and was part of the senior management team responsible for the origination and servicing of almost $2 billion of commercial real estate loans.

Prior to his recruitment by NCR Corporation to their corporate finance management training program, Steve graduated with high honors from the University of Illinois, where he earned his finance degree in the College of Commerce.
